A 12-year-old boy from Sochaux, France, has been charged with promoting terrorism after authorities discovered his online activities involving over 1,700 jihadist propaganda videos.
The boy, who has shown significant vulnerabilities, shared these videos through encrypted messaging platforms like Discord and Telegram.
During a closed-door hearing, he admitted to being influenced by radical Islamist content.
Due to his age, he cannot be placed under judicial control but is currently in a youth protection facility receiving educational and psychological support.
His parents, who are separated, have been cleared of any wrongdoing.
The case highlights concerns about the boy's understanding of his actions and the potential for radicalization among vulnerable youth.
