Seven individuals were arrested in Belgium on Thursday, July 25, as part of a federal investigation into a suspected terrorist plot.
The arrests followed around fifteen police raids across nine cities, including Antwerp, Liège, and Brussels.
Authorities suspect these individuals of being involved in terrorist activities, financing terrorism, and preparing for an attack.
Arnaud d'Oultremont, a spokesperson for the federal prosecutor's office, stated that while no specific targets have been identified, evidence suggests an attack was being planned.
Importantly, there is currently no link established between these arrests and the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris.
Belgium has faced multiple terrorist attacks in recent years, raising ongoing concerns about security.
