At the Paris 2024 Olympics, French judoka Sarah-Léonie Cysique has made a stunning impression in the -57 kg category.
She quickly advanced to the semi-finals, defeating her first opponent, Guinea's Mariana Esteves, in just two minutes and forty seconds, followed by a remarkable victory over Japan's Haruka Funakubo in only nine seconds.
Cysique, who won silver in Tokyo 2021, expressed confidence and maturity, stating that her experiences in judo have shaped her into a stronger competitor.
Meanwhile, fellow French judoka Joan-Benjamin Gaba also made headlines by eliminating seasoned competitor Lasha Shavdatuashvili in the first round, showcasing his potential on the Olympic stage.
Both athletes are now poised for further success as they continue their quests for gold in Paris.
