Elodie Clouvel Shines Again with Silver

Published: 2024-08-11

Elodie Clouvel, a 35-year-old French athlete, has once again claimed a silver medal in the modern pentathlon at the Paris 2024 Olympics, echoing her success from Rio 2016. Despite leading before the final laser run event, Clouvel was overtaken by Hungary's Michelle Gulyas, who set a new world record.

Clouvel's journey to this achievement has been marked by resilience, overcoming past challenges in equestrian events and a near decision to quit the sport.

Her performance in Paris was particularly poignant as it marked the last Olympic appearance of equestrian jumping in the pentathlon, a discipline she had once feared.

Clouvel's dedication to her sport remains strong, with aspirations to continue competing, possibly eyeing the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics, while also considering starting a family.
