The far-right Rassemblement National (RN) party in France is facing scrutiny over controversial candidates in the legislative elections.
One notable case involves Ludivine Daoudi, a candidate in Caen, who withdrew after a photo surfaced showing her wearing a Nazi Luftwaffe cap.
The party's attempt at 'de-demonization' has been challenged by candidates with problematic backgrounds, including one under reinforced guardianship who cannot legally serve if elected.
Another candidate, Annie Bell, was involved in a hostage situation at a town hall in 1995. These incidents have raised questions about the RN's vetting process and its claims of having changed its image.
