France is grappling with severe weather conditions as Storm Caetano sweeps across the country, bringing heavy snow and strong winds.
Météo-France has issued an orange alert for 51 departments, primarily in the north and the Alps, due to snow and ice, while 25 departments face warnings for high winds.
The storm has left approximately 270,000 homes without electricity, particularly affecting Normandy, Pays de la Loire, and Brittany.
Transport disruptions are widespread, with train services halted in parts of Nouvelle-Aquitaine and significant delays at Paris Charles-de-Gaulle Airport.
Authorities have also restricted truck movements and suspended school transport in several regions.
The storm poses a high avalanche risk in the Alps, urging extreme caution for mountain activities.
