France is ramping up security measures for the upcoming Bastille Day celebrations.
Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin announced that 130,000 police and gendarmes will be deployed nationwide this weekend, including 11,000 in Paris.
This heightened security comes just two weeks before the Olympic Games begin.
In a related development, a minor suspected of planning violent action in Angers during the festivities was arrested.
The suspect allegedly posted threatening messages online, though authorities are still evaluating the credibility of the threat.
Darmanin called for respect of this moment of national cohesion, warning against those who might attempt to disrupt the celebrations.
