French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin announced the arrest and imminent deportation of a 'radicalized imam' from Aube, France.
The Senegalese imam was taken into custody at 7:20 AM and transported to Troyes police station.
He is accused of delivering discriminatory sermons, particularly against women and non-Muslims.
Darmanin stated that the imam's teachings, which allegedly encouraged women to stay at home and Muslims to avoid mixing with non-Muslims, have no place in the French Republic.
The minister highlighted that recent immigration and anti-separatism laws now allow for the expulsion of radicalized imams within 24 hours.
The imam's deportation via Roissy airport was scheduled for the same day.
