France is grappling with a severe pollen allergy crisis, as 79 departments are now on red alert, according to the National Aerobiological Surveillance Network (RNSA).
Only the northwest remains on yellow alert, with notable risks.
The mild winter has accelerated tree blooming, spreading high levels of pollen from cypress, hazel, and alder trees.
Nearly one in three adults and 20% of children over nine suffer from hay fever, exacerbated by climate change and pollution.
Experts recommend rinsing hair at night, drying clothes indoors, and keeping car windows closed to reduce exposure.
The situation is expected to worsen in the coming days, with more regions likely to be affected.
