France to Celebrate National Sports Day

Published: 2024-09-14

French President Emmanuel Macron has announced the creation of a National Sports Day to be celebrated annually on September 14th.

This initiative aims to emulate the success of the Fête de la Musique by encouraging public participation in sports across streets, schools, and sports complexes nationwide.

The announcement comes as France celebrates the success of the recent Olympic Games, which were praised globally.

Macron envisions this day as a way to promote daily sports activities among all age groups, fostering a culture of health and unity.

Additionally, a new decorative order will be established to honor those who contributed to the success of the 2024 Olympics, from volunteers to public servants.

The President also supports keeping the Olympic rings on the Eiffel Tower as a lasting symbol of France's sporting achievements.
