French Handball Team Falls to Norway

Published: 2024-08-10

In a dramatic showdown at the Paris 2024 Olympics, the French women's handball team fell short in their quest to defend their Olympic title, succumbing to Norway with a score of 29-21. Despite a strong start, the French team struggled against Norway's formidable defense and the exceptional performance of veteran goalkeeper Katrine Lunde.

The French players, including Tamara Horacek and Estelle Nze Minko, faced challenges in maintaining their usual precision, resulting in a disappointing 49% shooting accuracy compared to Norway's 69%.

The match, held at the Pierre-Mauroy Stadium in Villeneuve-d'Ascq, saw the French team unable to capitalize on their earlier successes in the tournament.

Coach Olivier Krumbholz's team, which had previously defeated Norway in the World Championship final, found themselves outmatched in this Olympic final.

Despite the loss, the French team remains proud of their journey and the memorable moments shared throughout the competition.
