The second round of French legislative elections kicked off on Saturday in overseas territories, starting with Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon at 8 AM local time.
Voters in other overseas regions, including the Caribbean and French Polynesia, also cast their ballots on Saturday.
Mainland France will vote on Sunday, with polls opening at 8 AM.
This election is historically significant, being the first since 1997 not aligned with the presidential vote.
Turnout is expected to be higher than in 2022, with overseas participation already showing improvement.
Notable results include the National Rally's unprecedented progress in Martinique and Guadeloupe, while New Caledonia saw a surge in voter turnout to 60.02%, up from 32.51% in 2022.
