French unions are ramping up pressure on President Emmanuel Macron following the recent legislative elections that failed to secure an absolute majority.
Protesters, backed by left-wing parties, are calling for a left-wing government, dubbing it the 'New Popular Front'.
Unions, particularly the CGT, are organizing demonstrations and threatening strikes, including during the upcoming Olympic Games.
They demand that Macron respect the election results and appoint a prime minister from the left-wing coalition, which secured the most seats.
The CFDT, while more measured, also emphasizes the importance of respecting the voters' choice.
Macron, however, seems to be leaning towards a broader alliance, sparking criticism from union leaders who accuse him of ignoring the will of the people.
