In Grenoble, a municipal employee was critically injured after being shot twice in the chest while trying to prevent a hit-and-run driver from fleeing the scene.

The incident occurred on the morning of September 8th near the city hall, following a traffic accident involving a Peugeot and an Audi.

The driver of the Audi, responsible for the collision, fired at the employee who attempted to stop him.

The victim's condition is life-threatening, according to prosecutor Eric Vaillant.

The Grenoble police are actively searching for the shooter, and a crisis unit has been established by the city to support its staff during this difficult time.
