Hostage Drama at Family Pizzeria Ends Safely

In a tense standoff in Issy-les-Moulineaux, the son of a pizzeria owner took four employees hostage for three hours.

Armed with a knife, the man, described as having a history of drug addiction and suicidal tendencies, barricaded himself in the family-run "Pizza L’Olivier.

" The incident unfolded on a Saturday afternoon, drawing a significant police presence, including elite units from the Brigade de recherche et d’intervention (BRI).

Fortunately, the situation ended without injuries as the hostages were freed and the man was arrested.

This individual had previously exhibited similar behavior in 2022, threatening suicide.

The pizzeria remains closed as investigations continue into the motives behind this dramatic event.
