French President Emmanuel Macron delivered his traditional address to the armed forces at the Hôtel de Brienne on the eve of Bastille Day.
Despite political challenges, Macron reaffirmed France's commitment to supporting Ukraine and announced plans to adjust the military programming law next year.
He emphasized the need for strategic ambiguity in dealing with adversaries and promised to maintain the goal of doubling the defense budget by 2030. The President also acknowledged departing military leaders and praised the actions of key defense officials.
This speech marks Macron's first official address since the recent legislative elections, setting the stage for the annual military parade on July 14th.
