French President Emmanuel Macron has firmly rejected the possibility of governing with the far-left party La France Insoumise (LFI) following the legislative elections.
Despite his camp's tactical withdrawals in favor of left-wing candidates to block the far-right National Rally, Macron emphasized that this does not imply future collaboration with LFI.
Prime Minister Gabriel Attal echoed this stance, stating there would never be an alliance with LFI.
The presidential camp secured 168 seats, falling short of a majority but performing better than expected.
Macron now faces the challenge of navigating a more powerful parliament, with the center of political gravity shifting towards the National Assembly.
