Peter Cherif, a 42-year-old French national, is on trial in Paris for his alleged involvement with Chérif Kouachi, one of the attackers in the 2015 Charlie Hebdo massacre.
The trial, which began on September 16, will focus on Cherif's activities between 2011 and 2018, including his time with Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) in Yemen.
Cherif is accused of facilitating Kouachi's integration into AQAP and having knowledge of the planned attack in France.
Despite his claims of innocence, Cherif's silence during previous testimonies has raised suspicions.
The court will also examine his role in the kidnapping of three French nationals in 2011. Cherif, who converted to Islam in 2003, faces life imprisonment if convicted.
