A colossal Apatosaurus skeleton, nicknamed "Vulcain," has set a new record as the largest dinosaur ever auctioned.

The 22-meter-long fossil, discovered in Wyoming in 2018, was sold for over 6 million euros at the Château de Dampierre-en-Yvelines, near Paris.

The auction, organized by Collin du Bocage and Barbarossa, attracted significant attention, with the buyer planning to donate the specimen to a museum.

Vulcain, composed of 75% to 80% original bones, represents a remarkable paleontological find.

The sale highlights the growing interest in dinosaur fossils, with previous records being consistently surpassed in recent years.
