Restos du Cœur Prioritizes Vulnerable Families

The Restos du Cœur, a French charity founded by Coluche in 1985, has launched its 40th food distribution campaign, focusing on single-parent families and children under three.

This initiative comes after the organization regained financial stability, thanks to generous donations from the public, including significant contributions from the Arnault family and the French government.

Despite these efforts, the charity had to lower the income threshold for aid eligibility, resulting in 110,000 people being turned away during the 2023-2024 campaign.

The Restos du Cœur, which provides 35% of France's food aid, distributed 163 million meals last year.

As they cautiously expand their social actions, the charity remains vigilant about potential future crises.
