A severe weather system swept through the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, causing significant disruptions and a tragic fatality.
Violent thunderstorms led to nearly 200 emergency interventions in Isère, where a 78-year-old man was electrocuted while attempting to fix his circuit breaker.
The storms, which brought heavy rains and winds up to 100 km/h, left 14,000 homes without power at their peak, with 1,400 still affected the following morning.

Meanwhile, in Haute-Savoie, three paragliders were caught in the storm, with one suffering serious injuries after landing on a restaurant roof.
Despite the chaos, no major material damages were reported.
The weather alert has since been downgraded, but eight departments remain on orange alert for rain and heatwaves.
