The trial of Dominique Pelicot, accused of orchestrating the drugging and sexual assault of his wife, Gisèle Pelicot, by numerous men over a decade, has gripped France.

Pelicot allegedly drugged his wife and invited men, found online, to assault her while she was unconscious.

The trial, which began on September 2 in Avignon, involves 50 identified men, with many denying the criminal nature of their actions.
