A tragic series of hiking accidents in the Pyrenees has claimed two lives within days of each other.
A 15-year-old boy died after falling while hiking in the Rioumajou valley near the Spanish border, despite being well-equipped and experienced.
He was hiking with his father when the incident occurred, prompting a rescue operation that unfortunately ended in tragedy.
Just days later, a 74-year-old man also lost his life after stumbling on a steep trail nearby, falling approximately 150 meters.
Witnesses reported that the terrain was treacherous, with rocky outcrops posing additional dangers.
Both incidents have raised concerns about hiking safety in the region, leading authorities to launch investigations into the causes of these accidents.
