French unions are calling for immediate action following the recent election results.
The CGT and CFDT are urging President Emmanuel Macron to allow the Nouveau Front Populaire (NFP) to form a government, criticizing his reluctance as a 'provocation'.
CGT leader Sophie Binet accused Macron of 'throwing gasoline on a fire' and declared his electoral defeat as a 'monumental thrashing'.
In response, the CGT has announced protests for July 18th, the first day of the new National Assembly, demanding the installation of an NFP-led government.
Macron's 'letter to the French' suggesting that 'no one won' has further intensified the unions' frustration, with claims that he's attempting to 'steal the victory' from the NFP.
