On March 14, the Bois-d’Aulne College in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine was officially renamed Samuel-Paty College in memory of the history teacher tragically murdered in 2020. The ceremony, attended by Education Minister Élisabeth Borne, local officials, and Samuel Paty’s family, included the unveiling of a commemorative plaque.

The renaming symbolizes a commitment to uphold the values of the Republic and to ensure that neither fear nor violence prevails.

Emotional speeches highlighted Paty’s dedication to education and the importance of passing on these values to future generations.

The decision to rename the school was made after all students who had known Paty had graduated, ensuring a fresh start for the institution.
