François Bayrou, a prominent French political figure, has criticized the upcoming rally by the far-right National Rally (RN) party in Paris, calling it "neither healthy nor desirable.
" The rally, set for April 6, is intended to support Marine Le Pen following her recent conviction.
Le Pen was sentenced to four years in prison, with two years suspended, a fine, and five years of ineligibility, which could block her presidential ambitions.
The RN claims the rally is "for democracy," but critics argue it is a direct attack on the judiciary, citing inflammatory rhetoric from party leaders.
Meanwhile, Bayrou has also expressed support for a potential merger between his party, the Modem, and Renaissance, Emmanuel Macron's political movement, emphasizing the importance of centrist unity.
