Jean-Christophe Cambadélis, former leader of the French Socialist Party, has been convicted for misusing public funds during his tenure as a Paris deputy.
The court found him guilty of diverting €114,057 from his parliamentary expense account for personal use between 2015 and 2017. His expenditures included rent, party dues, and personal travel, violating rules set by the National Assembly.
Cambadélis received an eight-month suspended prison sentence, a €60,000 fine, and a five-year ban from holding public office.
This conviction adds to his past legal troubles, further eroding public trust in political figures.
