France is experiencing heavy rainfall across much of its territory, with particular concern in the southwest and center-east regions.
Météo France has issued an orange alert for four departments: Ain, Jura, Haute-Savoie, and Corrèze, due to the risk of flooding and mudslides.
These areas are expected to receive between 50 to 100 mm of rain, exacerbated by already saturated soil conditions.
Strong winds, especially in mountainous areas, accompany the downpour, with gusts reaching up to 80 km/h.
While the northwest alternates between showers and clear skies, the southeast enjoys relatively warm and dry weather.
The rain is expected to ease by the evening, moving out through the southeast, but vigilance remains high as the weather disturbance continues to affect the region.
