France Wins Silver in Archery Team Event

Published: 2024-07-29

The French archery team has secured its 11th medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics, winning a silver in the men's team event.

The trio of Baptiste Addis, Thomas Chirault, and Jean-Charles Valladont faced a tough competition against the dominant South Korean team, losing 5-1 in the final.

This achievement marks a significant comeback for the French archers, who had previously failed to win any medals at the Tokyo 2021 Olympics.

Under the guidance of South Korean coach Oh Seon-tek, the team has adopted rigorous training methods, shooting between 400 to 600 arrows daily.

The silver medal adds to France's rich history in archery, with notable past successes including an Olympic gold in 1992 and other medals in previous Games.

The team is now set to compete in individual events, aiming to build on their success.
