Serge Atlaoui, a 61-year-old Frenchman, has returned to France after spending 19 years in Indonesian prisons, including time on death row.

Convicted in 2007 for drug trafficking, Atlaoui has always maintained his innocence, claiming he was misled into installing machinery in what he believed was an acrylic factory.

His death sentence was commuted following intense diplomatic efforts, and his return was secured through a humanitarian agreement due to his deteriorating health.
