Gabriel Attal has been officially elected as the Secretary General of Renaissance, the party founded by Emmanuel Macron.
Attal, who was the sole candidate, secured 94.9% of the votes.
He succeeds Stéphane Séjourné and will also serve as the president of the macronist group in the Assembly, Ensemble pour la République (EPR).
This election comes amid a challenging period for the party, which has seen a decline in influence since its peak from 2017 to 2022. Attal aims to revitalize the party with a new program set for early 2025, focusing on engaging local committees and former members.
Meanwhile, Elisabeth Borne has been elected as the president of the party's national council, aiming to enhance its parliamentary role.
