The conservative party Les Républicains (LR) has reclaimed a key seat in Boulogne-Billancourt, Hauts-de-Seine, marking a significant political shift.
In a legislative by-election, Élisabeth de Maistre triumphed with 59.65% of the vote, defeating Horizons candidate Antoine de Jerphanion.
This victory ends an eight-year dominance by Macron's coalition in the area.
However, the election saw record-low voter turnout, with only 25.82% participation.
De Maistre thanked voters for their trust and pledged to represent their values in the National Assembly.
Her win strengthens the Republican Right group in Parliament, dealing a blow to the government’s fragile majority.
