Former French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne has won re-election as a deputy in the 6th constituency of Calvados, defeating far-right challenger Nicolas Calbrix.
Borne secured 56.44% of the vote in the second round, benefiting from the withdrawal of left-wing candidate Noé Gauchard.
The election was closely watched, as Borne's constituency had shown strong support for the far-right National Rally party in recent European elections.
Despite facing criticism for her role in passing controversial pension and immigration reforms during her tenure as Prime Minister, Borne managed to retain her seat.
This victory marks a significant moment for Borne and the Macron-aligned political faction, as they continue to navigate France's complex political landscape.
