On July 27, over 1,500 people gathered at the Palais Nikaïa in Nice to pay tribute to seven victims of a tragic arson incident that occurred on July 18. The fire, linked to a drug trafficking conflict, claimed the lives of a family, including three young children aged 5, 7, and 10. The victims were innocent bystanders in a violent dispute, with the fire intentionally set in their apartment building.

Community members, including many from the Comorian diaspora, attended the ceremony to honor the deceased and demand justice.

Authorities have detained three suspects in connection with the crime and are actively searching for two more.

The incident has raised serious concerns about the rising drug-related violence in the area, prompting local officials to call for urgent action against narcotrafficking.
