A significant heatwave is set to sweep across France from Monday, July 29, to Wednesday, July 31, affecting 40 departments.
Météo-France has issued an orange alert for 39 departments, including Vendée and Indre-et-Loire, as temperatures are expected to soar, reaching up to 40°C in some areas.
The heat will be particularly intense in the southern half of the country, with nighttime temperatures remaining above 25°C.
Tuesday is predicted to be the hottest day, with maximum temperatures around 34-35°C in the Paris region.
Experts warn that these heatwaves are becoming more frequent and intense due to climate change, posing risks to public health and air quality.
As the heat begins to subside on Thursday, temperatures will still remain high, especially in the south.
