This Tuesday, warm summer weather continues across much of France, with temperatures soaring in the Mediterranean region.
The Pyrénées-Orientales department has been placed under an orange heatwave alert, with temperatures expected to reach 35°C during the day and nighttime lows around 23-24°C.
While the rest of the country enjoys pleasant conditions, thunderstorms are forecasted for the west, particularly in Brittany.
Residents are advised to stay hydrated and avoid outdoor activities during peak heat hours, especially vulnerable populations such as the elderly and children.
The heatwave is expected to last several days, raising concerns as previous heatwaves this summer have resulted in over 5,000 deaths, primarily among seniors.
