The Pyrénées-Atlantiques region in France is under an orange alert for heavy rain and potential flooding due to intense thunderstorms.
Météo-France has issued this warning starting Friday evening, with expectations of significant rainfall continuing into Saturday afternoon.
The storms are predicted to bring between 50 to 70 millimeters of rain across much of the region, with some areas, particularly in the mountains and foothills, potentially receiving up to 100 millimeters.
Neighboring regions such as Limousin, Dordogne, and Lot, currently under a yellow alert, may also see increased rainfall and could be upgraded to an orange alert.
Residents are advised to stay informed and take necessary precautions as the weather situation develops.
