Former members of La France Insoumise (LFI) are officially breaking away from Jean-Luc Mélenchon's party, launching a new movement called 'L'Après' (The After) on Friday, July 12. This split follows internal conflicts and the controversial 'disinvestment' of several LFI figures, including Alexis Corbière and Raquel Garrido, during the 2024 legislative elections.
Mathilde Panot, a senior LFI member, defended the party's actions on BFMTV, rejecting the term 'purge' and insisting they merely 'disinvested' certain individuals.
The ousted members, now calling themselves 'disinvested,' have proposed an alliance with communist and green parties, confirming their definitive break from LFI.
