Météo-France has issued an orange alert for severe thunderstorms in 24 departments across northeastern France on Monday, July 15th.
After a calm and hot morning, intense storms are expected to sweep through the region from west to east in the afternoon and evening.
Forecasters warn of strong winds with gusts up to 100 km/h, heavy rainfall of 30-50mm in a short time, and large hailstones several centimeters in diameter.
The affected areas include parts of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and the Grand Est regions.
Residents are advised to stay informed and take necessary precautions as the storms are predicted to be sudden and intense, with conditions expected to improve by early Tuesday morning.
