An Algerian TikTok influencer, known as "Zazou Youcef," has been arrested in Brest, France, after inciting violence against opponents of the Algerian regime.
The 25-year-old, followed by over 400,000 users before his account was banned, posted videos threatening attacks and mimicking violent acts.
His inflammatory content included calls for shootings and other violent actions against protesters.
French authorities, already aware of his criminal history, had issued an order for him to leave the country earlier this year.
Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau confirmed the arrest, emphasizing that such threats will not be tolerated.
The case highlights growing concerns over the misuse of social media platforms to spread hate and incite violence.
