French Court Dissolves Pro-Palestinian Group

France's highest administrative court, the Conseil d’État, has upheld the dissolution of the pro-Palestinian group Collectif Palestine Vaincra (CPV).

The group, based in Toulouse, was accused of inciting hatred, discrimination, and violence, particularly through unmoderated comments on its social media platforms.

These comments were deemed antisemitic and provocative by the court.

The dissolution, initially ordered in March 2022 by then-Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin, was temporarily suspended but has now been confirmed as legal.

CPV has criticized the decision, calling it politically motivated and a blow to pro-Palestinian solidarity in France.

Darmanin, now Minister of Justice, defended the move, stating it was necessary to combat hate and violence.
