Kemi Seba, a prominent Beninese activist known for his anti-Western stance, was arrested in Paris on October 14. Formerly the leader of the dissolved antisemitic group Tribu Ka, Seba has been a vocal critic of French policies in Africa.
He was stripped of his French nationality in July but holds a Nigerien diplomatic passport, granted by the Nigerien junta.
His arrest, reportedly for "intelligence with a foreign power," has sparked controversy, with his lawyer claiming it is politically motivated.
Seba's activities have been linked to Russian influence, with allegations of funding from the Wagner Group to support anti-French sentiments in Africa.
