On February 4, a man attacked three police officers near the Paris police headquarters on Rue de la Cité.

The suspect, reportedly of Sudanese origin, attempted to seize a firearm from one officer's belt.

During the struggle, he punched an officer in the face and injured two others—one with a hand cut and another with a fractured finger.

Additional officers arrived to subdue and handcuff the man, who was carrying a broken mirror.

It remains unclear if the mirror was used in the attack.

The suspect was taken to a police station for psychiatric evaluation, and the investigation is ongoing under the direction of the judicial police.
