On Thursday, July 25, around 7 PM, a significant rockslide occurred along departmental road 1532 in La Rivière, Isère, blocking the route and raising concerns for potential victims.

The local mayor, Raymond Rolland, described the event as a "mini-mountain" crossing the road, with reports indicating that a previous smaller slide had happened earlier in the day.

Fortunately, no injuries or missing persons have been reported, and the area is devoid of nearby homes.

Emergency services, including around 50 firefighters and specialized dog teams, were deployed to search for any trapped individuals, but operations were halted at night due to unstable conditions.

The prefecture has activated a crisis unit and advised motorists to avoid the area as the road remains closed.

Power outages were also reported in nearby neighborhoods as a precautionary measure.
