A Mediterranean depression is expected to bring intense rain and thunderstorms to the region, particularly affecting the departments of Gard, Var, Ardèche, and Alpes-Maritimes.

These areas have been placed under an orange alert for rain and flooding, with the most critical period anticipated from Saturday evening into Sunday.

The persistent rainfall on already saturated ground raises concerns about potential flooding.
