In a significant anti-terror operation, three individuals, including two Afghan nationals, were arrested in the Haute-Garonne region of France.

The arrests, carried out by the Directorate General of Internal Security (DGSI) with support from the RAID unit, took place early Tuesday morning in Toulouse and Fronton.

The National Anti-Terrorist Prosecutor's Office (PNAT) confirmed that the arrests were part of a preliminary investigation into a planned violent action on French soil.

The suspects, aged between 20 and 31, are believed to have been preparing a violent attack, with the two Afghans reportedly linked to each other.

This operation follows a tip-off received by the authorities, and the investigation is ongoing to determine the full scope of the planned attack.

The suspects can be held in custody for up to 96 hours as the investigation continues.
